Joel in honor of Doar Litigation Consulting and its chairman and CEO—and Yeshiva College Board member—Samuel H. Solomon ’75Y, BR, R, and Mychal and Steve Brown ’79Y, also a YC Board member. The media communications lab provides graduate and undergraduate students with professional-quality video, audio, and graphic production tools. It offers students an unprecedented opportunity to learn about print and electronic media, analyze message-making strategies, and create their own portfolios of work. It has all the necessary tools for Web development and programming, as well as video editing and finishing. Wurzweiler School of Social Work students will use the lab to analyze teaching skills and client interaction, while pre-law and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law students will be able to analyze communication in the courtroom. A group of students recently used the lab to create the short films that they entered in the Center for the Jewish Future’s “Jewish Hero” Film Competition. Mr. Solomon said the lab would offer both spiritual and creative outlets. “For many YU students, the world of multimedia—including digital photography, video, and creative graphics—will become an important channel for their connection to Judaism and a deeper connection to their personal expression.”
