The event was attended by more than 50 people. Speakers included Esther Zuroff, former director of student services at Stern College for Women, Dan Vogel, former Stern College for Women dean who made aliyah and became the head of the English literature department at Michlalah Yerushalayim, and Pearl Edelman, one of the first students at Stern College for Women.
Dean Gilbert was the daughter of Rabbi Philip Klein and the great-granddaughter of Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch. She served with great dedication as dean of Stern College for Women from the day of its inauguration in 1955 until 1967. Dean Gilbert is remembered fondly by Stern students who were deeply influenced by her greatness.
