Three scholars presented new research in Jewish history, for use in shaping courses and classes. Lecturers were Jacob Reiner, PhD, assistant professor of Jewish history; Bernard Rosensweig, PhD, professor of Jewish history; and Lawrence H. Schiffman, PhD, chairman of the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies and Ethel and Ervin A. Edelman Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University. “This program allowed Jewish history teachers to discuss the academic, religious, and pedagogical issues that make their jobs so difficult,” said Dr. Schiffman.
