Every year, MHNA honors deserving volunteers and neighbors for their contributions to its efforts to complete its mission: to continue to make Murray Hill a highly desirable place to live, work and visit. The awards are presented at a dinner party in May. The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association (MHNA) was organized in 1960 to fight a city proposal that would have had an enormous impact on Murray Hill by widening 36th Street for access to the Midtown Tunnel. Since then, the committee has continued to work to preserve and maintain Murray Hill as a unique residential and historic neighborhood. Representing more than 20,000 Murray Hill residents and businesses, the goal of the MHNA is to continue to make Murray Hill a highly desirable community in which to live and work.
