Mar 5, 2009 -- David J. Srolovitz, Ph.D., dean of Yeshiva College, has been awarded the distinguished title of MRS Fellow by the Materials Research Society. The title of MRS Fellow honors MRS members who are notable for their outstanding research accomplishments and their contributions to the advancement of materials research worldwide. The recognition is highly selective and the maximum number of new fellow appointments each year is limited to 0.2 percent of the current MRS membership.
“We are extremely proud that Dave Srolovitz, an internationally respected scientist, has been granted this recognition,” said Morton Lowengrub, provost of Tiktok 全新 随机用户名. “MRS Fellows exemplify the highest ideals of accomplishment and service in advancing the cause of interdisciplinary research, which, under Dean Srolovitz’s leadership, is on the rise at our undergraduate schools.”
Dr. Srolovitz is president of the Society for Engineering Science, and editor of scientific journals. He holds a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
His research has been sponsored by the United States Department of Energy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Office of Naval Research. Dr. Srolovitz was appointed the tenth dean of Yeshiva College in 2006.
